Our First Mommy-Daughter Photoshoot

Photo taken by Love Janet Photography

During the holidays in 2021, I thought it would be a good time to take fresh photos of Siena, especially with her getting ready to turn 6 at the time. But then I realized that she and I didn’t have any professionally shot photos together. We hadn’t taken professional photos together since her dad and I were together, back in 2017. So it felt like a perfect moment to take photos with Siena for not only the holidays, but to also celebrate her coming birthday. The timing perfectly aligned with the launch of my blog as well, so you’ll see some of the amazing photos taken of Siena and I throughout the site.

These photos mark a monumental chapter in my life. The shoot was a real-time reminder of how far I’ve come to be in such a happy place with my own life, and how grateful I am for being given the opportunity to experience life with this amazing little being – my Siena Rose. These photos represent our new chapter together — as the dynamic mommy-daughter duo we are.

Our photographer, Janet, Founder & Owner of Love Janet Photography, has photographed all of the milestone moments I’ve had in life – my engagement, my wedding, maternity, Siena’s 6 month photos, Siena’s first year/cake smash photos + holiday photos – so she knows us well! Lol And basically, my life story. Lol But she hadn’t seen us in a LONG time. It was her first time meeting Siena as a ‘kid’, so it was really fun to catch up and see her. Felt like old times. I always have felt really comfortable with her shooting me, so it was a perfect shoot, as always. She’s just as AMAZING of a person as she is a photographer, beautiful inside and out. I cannot recommend her enough. I genuinely missed her. At the end of our shoot, we caught up and chatted for a bit. She then told me, “Tonya, you look so happy.” And I told her, “Girl, I really am.”

Here are just some of the incredible moments she captured of us. I love them all so much.

xoxo
